Community
We truly are a family, working at experiencing community. Community is experienced when a group of people with common interests and needs support and encourage each other in a way that makes them better. We attempt to do this in our small groups, Sunday School classes and fellowship times. It's in these honest, loving relationships that God transforms us. The Christian life was not meant to be lived alone. Therefore it necessitates getting Connected!
Get Connected
Highland Naz provides many ways for you to "get connected" with fellow members to form meaningful, lasting relationships and receive the personal encouragement, support, and prayers that every believer needs. Here's how you can get connected at Highland Church of the Nazarene:
1. Service
Serving with others is one of the best ways to get to know people and build valuable relationships. There are many volunteer ministries at Highland Naz.
Interested in serving during one of our weekly activities? We are currently recruiting volunteers to be part of our Service Teams, Children's Ministries, Student Ministries, Adult Ministries and Praise Band. You can set up an appointment to interview for a position at the Welcome Center or by calling the church office at (219) 924 - 4843.

Student Ministries - SS Teachers, Wed. Night Youth Leaders, Small Group Leader Adult Ministries - Sunday School teacher, Small group leader, Primetimers
Praise Band - Singers, Musicians and Technical Support
2. Sunday School
Here at Highland Naz we really believe that Matthew 22:29 is true. "Jesus replied, You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God." One of the most important things we do is teach children, teens and adults the Bible. Not just the Bible stories, but how to apply the truths of the Bible to everyday life. We really do believe that spiritual growth is the result of knowledge plus application. The truth of Scripture must intersect with everyday life. People have to learn how to live out their faith in everyday life. Our goal in our Sunday School classes and small groups is "to equip people for the lifelong adventure of being fulloy surrendered to Jesus Christ." In short, to live the Christian life victoriously.
3. Small Groups
Highland Naz's small groups are all about friends, encouragement, prayer and study of God's Word! In a small group you can take a break from the busy demands of everyday life and invest in what is really important: your relationship with God and your relationship with the people around you. In a church our size it is impossible to know everyone but you need to know someone. Currently our main small groups take the form all ages in men’s/women’s study groups. Our small groups meet in homes in the neighboring communities, and at the church. All of our groups are led by specially trained facilitators.
Get connected in your community!
