Our Ministries

NMI - Nazarene Missions International. NMI's purpose is to mobilize the church in mission through praying, discipling, giving, and educating. NMI is dedicated to world evangelism.  It is the distinctive task of NMI to bring each mission area to the local church in such a vital way that every Nazarene will desire to be a part of the global outreach, spreading the good news of full salvation (holiness) to the ends of the earth.

Here at Highland Nazarene, once a month the NMI council holds a Coffee House.  We begin that evening around 6:30 pm with a time of fellowship. At this time we sell specialty coffees and baked goods to raise funds to help support the Jesus Film and our sponsored child through the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. Around 7:00 or so, we have a mission education video session and different people share about the local and world wide mission activities for the month. We have mission books for reading and audio for listening. These books are written by missionaries in the Church of the Nazarene and mission minded individuals.

Our NW Indiana District has assigned us LINKS missionaries to keep in contact with and support for a period of 2 years. We encourage, pray, and send them monetary gifts throughout the 2 year assignment. At the present time our LINK missionaries are the Herndon family who are on assignment in Italy.

There is also a special mission lesson and activity for the children during church time on Sunday.

At Christmas we participate in the Operation Christmas Child program of the Samaritan's Purse organization.

These are just a few of the things that go on at Highland Nazarene for NMI.
