Frequently Asked Questions

What do you have to offer my family?
Children:
For babies and toddlers we have clean, secure, loving nurseries, during both services. For 4 & 5 year olds we have Sunday School and a class during second service. For 1st - 6th graders, we have Sunday School and Children's Church during second service. On Wednesday nights we have a class for 4 & 5 year olds and a variety of activities for 1st - 6th graders. During the year we have a number of special activities for our boys and girls like Vacation Bible School, Boo Blast, Family Fun Fair, Easter Egg Hunt, and a Kids' Krusade. Our children's activities are all supervised by our Children's Director Michelle Mullins.
Teens:
For our teens we have Sunday School and then contemporary worship in our second servcie. On Wednesday nights they have games, a Bible study and sometimes snacks. During the summer months, they play volleyball before the Bible study.
Throughout the year there are activities like Clelbrate Life, Remix, service projects, winter retreat, work & witness trips and 30 Hour Famine. Our teen activities are all overseen by our Youth Pastor Scott Sharp.

Adults:
Our church has five adult Sunday School classes. Class of singles and married couples together, just for women, just for men and also Primetimers. All of the them have good teachers with excellent Bible content. We also have a few Small Groups for adults. There is also a young adult group of "20 somethings" on Monday nights at 6:30 pm called Life Group. They have snacks, a Bible study and a time of sharing.
Our ladies have video series Bible studies by women like Beth Moore or Karen Kingsbury every fall and spring. Usually a day session and an evening session. The ladies also have fun things like the annual Craft Fair and Bunko tournaments.
Our men have a monthly meeting called Men's Gathering the third Friday night of each month. Sometimes they will have snacks, a Bible study and fellowship. Other times they go out to dinner or breakfast together. Also they do fun things like a cookout.
Also for adults we have what we call Mixers, for people to get to know other people in the church. And we have annual events like our Labor Day Picnic for the entire family.

What should I wear?
Come as you are! We care about you as a person, we aren't concerned about your style of dress. Our atmosphere is relaxed. You will see people wearing anything from suits and ties to shorts and tee shirts. So feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable.

When should I get there?
For your first visit to Highland Naz, it would be good to arrive 15 minutes before the service, especially if you have children. This will give us time to help you find the children's activities, show you the essentials (like where the coffee and the bathrooms are located) and give you time to find a seat where you're confortable. We don't want you to feel rushed or pressured, and of course we'd hate to see you miss out on part of the service. Early Service (blended) starts at 8:30 am. Late Service (mild contemporary) starts at 10:45 am. Sunday school and adult Bible study classes are inbetween services at 9:45 am.
